Job Description:

Full-time position with varied hours based on number of catering events.

Responsible to the Director of Catering for supervising and taking part in catering events. This includes but is not limited to regular and student employee supervision, event coordination, taking orders, invoicing, event follow-up, and menu planning.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Assist in billing for catering events by documenting the number of guests and other event information.

2.  Coordinate and assist in planning catering events.

3.  Organize and assist in set-up and serving of catering events.

4.  Manage and assist in training of student employees for catering events.

5.  Oversee the catering event from set-up, serving, and wrap-up to ensure the needs of the customer are met as determined during pre-event planning with the director of catering.

6.  Specialize in different aspects of catering business (i.e. food presentation, garnishing, and customer relations).           

7.  Must be able to organize, set-up and supervise events in absence of Director or Assistant Director of catering.

8.  Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude.

9.  Must be open and adaptable to change.

10.  Must work cooperatively and respectfully with the people you work with (co-workers and customers).

Minimum Hiring Range:  $ 10.40-12.00

Requirements:

High School degree plus two years food service/catering supervisory experience.  Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds, stand and/or walk for sustained periods of time.  Must have excellent communication and interactive skills.  ServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain.  Must have a valid driver's license.
