Job Description:

Responsible to the Director of Residence Life for Hall Council training, early/late arrivals and departures requests, move-in/check-out processes, Residence Life keys, and directing a specific residence hall operation. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Direct operations of assigned residential buildings.

2.  Authority for and management of hall budget and activity fee budget. 

3.  Work as team with other Residence Life professional staff members.

4.  Conduct judicial conferences and administer sanctions. 

5.  Supervise 5-12 Resident Advisor staff.

6.  Implement social, educational and community development initiatives.

7.  Participate in on-call schedule and weekend duty.

8.  Advise the hall council.

9.  Participate in staff and professional development meetings at the divisional level.

10.  Facilitate roommate mediations and room changes. 

11.  Act as conduit between students and student life office.

12.  Participate in emergency response and crisis intervention.

13.  Confront summer guests if observed damaging college residences and report situation to appropriate Campus Services or Upward Bound personnel.

14.  Oversee the training and development of Hall Councils for the entire campus.

15.  Coordinate the dispersion to and collection of keys from Hall Directors.

16.  Organize move-in/beginning of the year check-in as well as year-end checkout process.

17.  Coordinate early arrivals and late stay requests for all residents.

18.  Take responsibility for additional summer projects and program planning as determined by the Director of Residence Life.

19.  Serve on departmental and college committees.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.  Master's degree and previous residence life experience preferred.  Evidence of strong administrative, team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills is essential.  Ability to manage multiple tasks is necessary.  On campus residence required, stand-alone two bedroom house with detached garage provided.  A meal plan is provided while school is in session.
